Seated patient transport to the doctor, hospital or therapy
Seated transport to doctor's appointments, hospital, dialysis or physiotherapy, with help getting in and out and an escort to reception. Not an ambulance, no medical care.
Lenzburg, Aarau, Brugg, Baden and surrounding area

If you need regular treatment, you need a driving service that knows your appointment and plans the return ride as well. The hospitals and clinics in the region are spread out: the Kantonsspital and Hirslanden in Aarau, the outpatient KSA Lenzburg, Kantonsspital Baden, Rehaklinik Bellikon, aarReha in Schinznach, Königsfelden in Windisch. We pick you up at home, drive you right to the entrance and, if you wish, escort you to reception.
Whether you call it a patient ride, a hospital ride or a ride to the doctor: for us it always means a seated ride in a regular vehicle, for people who can sit unaided and need a little help getting in and out. It is not ambulance transport and not an emergency service, and there is no medical care during the journey.
Recurring appointments, such as dialysis three times a week, are planned once and then kept to. Family members can book the rides and have the invoice sent to their own address.

Dialysis, radiotherapy, day rehab: rides as recurring appointments
If you need dialysis three times a week, daily radiotherapy or four weeks of day rehab, you do not need individual bookings but a fixed schedule. You give us the appointments once, we plan the outward and return rides for the whole series and confirm them in writing.
Billing is once a month with a list of rides, sent to you, to family members or to the institution. You can calculate in advance roughly what a series costs per month on the Care & health page.
Swiss basic health insurance may contribute 50 percent of medically necessary transport costs, up to CHF 500 per year (Art. 26 KLV). Whether this applies is decided by your insurer; we cannot promise reimbursement, and we will issue a trip record on request.
Rides to Kantonsspital Aarau and to Baden
Many hospital rides from the region go to Kantonsspital Aarau or to Kantonsspital Baden in Dättwil. From Lenzburg station it is about 11 kilometres to Aarau and about 13 kilometres to Baden; from Brugg and Windisch, Baden is closer.
Tell us your appointment time and, if you know them, the department or entrance stated in your appointment letter. We plan the pick-up with time to spare, drive you right to the entrance and, if you wish, escort you to reception.
We arrange the return ride for a fixed time or on call: you phone us when the treatment is finished. For outpatient series, such as check-ups or therapies, we schedule all appointments at once.

Frequently asked questions
Is patient transport a medical ambulance transport?
No. We are not an emergency service and do not provide medical care. Patient transport is for people who can travel seated in a regular, suitable vehicle. Please check directly with your health insurer whether it will cover any costs.
Will the driver escort me to the registration desk?
Yes, by arrangement. In the request, under “What helps the passenger?”, choose escort to the registration desk. The driver will then accompany you to the reception of the practice or hospital.
Are recurring rides possible?
Yes. State the frequency and the weekdays in your request, or arrange a series of recurring appointments by phone. Companies and institutions plan series via their business account.
Can I book a return trip?
Yes, in a single request. We schedule the return ride at a fixed time or on call after your appointment, if you state this in your request.
Can you transport wheelchair users?
Aargauer Taxi currently has no wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Anyone who can transfer from their wheelchair to a vehicle seat is welcome: we help with getting in and take the folding wheelchair along. For rides seated in a wheelchair, we recommend a specialised transport service.
Who drives older people to the doctor in Lenzburg, Brugg or Baden?
Aargauer Taxi offers an escort service for seniors: pick-up at the front door, help getting in and out, escort to reception and, on request, waiting and a return ride. Relatives can book the ride and receive the invoice.
Will my health insurer pay for the ride?
That depends on your insurance and the treatment. We do not promise reimbursement; please check with your insurer. On request, we issue a trip record.
Can you drive me to dialysis three times a week?
Yes. We firmly schedule recurring appointments, with outward and return rides at the agreed times.
What if someone can no longer sit unaided?
Then we are not the right service. Our rides are for people who can travel seated in a regular vehicle. For stretcher or ambulance transport, please contact an ambulance transport service.
